FINAL 4 has been set:

<-Dave Eccles 1st round pick, Carsen Edwards helped Purdue advance to the Elite 8.  Edwards is the tournament leading scorer scoring 139 point in 4 games.  Although Purdue lost to Virginia, it appears Edwards will lead the tournament in scoring as the next closest that's still playing is 53 points behind him.   We will see what happens.

FINAL 4 GAMES ON SATURDAY MARCH 31st

# 2 Michigan State vs # 3 Texas Tech

# 1 Virginia Cavaliers vs # 5 Auburn Tigers

<- Zion Williamson, the Commissioner's # 1 overall pick in the draft game is another player like Edwards that didn't make it to the Final 4.  Zion certainly is an entertaining basketball player and will be sorely missed not seeing any more of him in a Duke uniform!

Our game:

Through 4th round games - top 4 drafters (1-3 pay):

1st: Team Trevino - 774

2nd: Dave Eccles - 770

3rd: Team Noffke - 741

4th: Dennis Hammer - 694

I don't think anything else needs to be mentioned here.  It is pretty close with so much depending on the Final 4 games and which team pulls it out.   I am not going out on a limb by saying any draft team here in the top 3 can win this one but I would lean toward Dave Eccles with Michigan State defeating Texas Tech in the Final 4 and get to the Final game.  How can you not bet on coach Izzo?

Top 4 Leading Scorers in the tournament ($20 bonus to the leading scorer):

Leaders:   Dave Eccles' - Carson Edwards (Purdue) - 139 pts (out)

                 Commissioner's - Zion Williamson (Duke) - 104 pts (out)

Dennis Hammer's - Jared Culver (Texas Tech) -  86 pts (still in)

Team Noffke's - Brandon Clarke (Gonzaga) -  81 pts (out)

Team Lehman's - RJ Barrett (Duke) -  81 pts (out)

+/- Leader ($50 payout):

For the second year in a row, Team Lehman has this payout already wrapped up as they have a whopping cumulative <186> points through 4 games played.  This negative total is slightly worse than the <183> total through 4 games in last year's draft game.  This negative total has got to be the worst for a drafting team in our brief 38 year history.  I went back the last 10 years of having 10 draft teams drafting and <116> was the worst total that happened in the 2012 draft game.

Only 2 drafting teams are positive in the point performance from their picks this year.  Team Trevino is at a + 8 & Dave Eccles is + 9.

The best draft pick so far with most accumulated positive points over regular season average is Dave Eccles' pick of Carson Edwards (Purdue) drafted in the 1st round 3rd pick overall.  Edwards and Purdue are out of the tournament but as mentioned above he probably will win the leading scorer prize for this year's draft game.   Edwards averaged 23 a game regular season and finished up averaging 35 a game in the tournament for a plus 45.

The worst pick so far has been Team Lehman's selections of Bol Bol (Oregon) drafted in the 12th round, was injured and never played so he ended up <63> under what you would have expected from his 21 pts/game regular seasonal average.  Joshua Langford (Michigan State) also drafted by Team Lehman is at <60> and will get even worse with Michigan State still in the tournament.  Langford has been injured and will not play in the tournament.
