FINAL 4 has been set:

< - Ken Kremer team's 1st round pick pick, 8th overall, Sam Dekker saved the Badgers in their Elite 8 win over Arizona, has kept Wisconsin alive in the tournament.  He is the 2nd leading scorer in the tournament with 87 points for a 21.8 average.

FINAL 4 GAMES ON SATURDAY APRIL 4TH

# 7 Michigan State Spartans vs # 1 Duke Blue Devils

# 1 Kentucky Wildcats vs # 1 Wisconsin Badgers

What a great weekend of basketball, some of the better games witnessed in some time. Three # 1 seeded teams remain in the tournament.  It could possibly be an all Big 10 Final on Monday. The biggest margin of victory in the Elite 8 was Duke's 14 point victory of Gonzaga.  We will have a rematch of last year's Final Four game between Wisconsin and Kentucky in the second game on Saturday night.

Our game:

This year, after 4 games played, Team Noffke's train is still steaming down the tracks going full throttle.  They've widened their lead over 2nd place Team Trevino to a figure that is now 173 points ahead.  Team Noffke still has 4 players remaining in the tournament and they're all good. The forecast for after the Final 4 games on Saturday, I have them with a 206 point lead over 2nd place Team Trevino....WOW.

Team Noffke recap because it needs to be outlined:

Ok Mark, Steve & Bruce, we really need to find out what crystal ball you guys are using.  Not only did you guys draft 3 players from a # 11 seeded team UCLA (who many said should not have made the tournament but did, and then proceeded to make the sweet 16, thanks to a questionable goal tending call) but you got 131 points from these guys a plus 22 over their regular average.  How did you know that?  This UCLA team is the same team that scored 7 points in the first half against Kentucky, 7! Or how about drafting 2 players from Louisville who did get a 4 seed despite losing their star point guard the last week in February due to a rape charge, and dropping 2 of their last 3 games before the tournament.  Louisville also made the Sweet 16 and the Noffke draft picks for Louisville scored 134 points for them a plus 23 from their regular season average!  Finally, there's Michigan State and yes you can possibly see the common thread here, Noffke team drafted the top 2 scorers on # 7 seeded team Michigan State (still going) and they've provided 132 points toward their total, another plus 15 from their regular season average.  Just those 7 picks totalling 397 points, + 60 over their regular season average.  SID would only have a 126 point lead using their 28 picks to your 7.  We need to see the crystal ball folks!

The fight for 2nd and 3rd place, it really depends on how your draft pick plays and who wins on Saturday, these should be 2 really good games.  Right now, using regular season average, I have Team Trevino ahead of Bob Glinke for 2nd place by 7 points after Saturday night.

One draft teams does not have a player left in the tournament this year.  For the second year in a row, headed to the Final 4, the team of Dennis Hammer and Dominick Schmit, do not have a draft pick left in the tournament.  Actually Dominick you weren't around last year for the draft so we have to cut you a break!

Top 4 Leading Scorers in the tournament ($25 to leading scorer):

Leaders:    Rob Stenzel's - Frank Kaminsky (Wisconsin) - 91 pts (still in)

Team Kremer's - Sam Dekker (Wisconsin) - 87 pts (still in)

Team Noffke's - Travis Trice (Michigan State) -  79 pts (still in)

Team Trevino's - Kyle Wiltjer (Gonzaga) -  71 pts (out)

+/- Leader ($50 payout):

This year, the Matt Krautstrunk & Jeremiah Royer team is in the lead for this payout with a cumulative <96> points through 4 games played.  I believe this will probably hold up for the payout.  They have 4 draft picks with double digit negative scoring for the tournament.   Right behind is the Commissioner who has 7 draft picks with double digit negative points scored.  The Commish is at <98> points in the tournament.

3 drafting teams are positive in the point performance from their picks this year.  Team Trevino is + 35, Team Noffke is +27 and Commissioner's picks are a + 7 total.
