< - Kevin Obanor (Oral Roberts) was the 219th pick in the draft this year by Team Lehman.  Obanor has scored 58 points in 2 games, well above his 18.6 regular season average

Sweet 16 has been set:

A lot of upsets this tournament has had pretty much everybody throwing out their brackets. For only the second time in the history of the tournament a 15 seed has advanced to the Sweet 16.  Oral Roberts narrow win 81-78 over Florida has allowed them to move to a matchup against #3 Arkansas on Saturday 03-27.

We had our first and hopefully last pandemic lost game in the first round between VCU & Oregon.  Dave Eccles lost 29 "expected" points with that cancellation, Team Trevino 23 and Dennis Hammer 17.  Oregon advancing meant a second chance and Team Trevino's 2 players pretty much got the lost points back by nearly doubling their regular season avarage in the second game and Oregon won so they are heading to the Sweet 16.

The Sweet 16 contains 7 teams that were seeded in the top 4 seeds.  3 #1 seeds advanced with Illinois the only one eliminated by Loyola (Chi).  4 out of the remaining 16 teams were seeded 11 or lower, which for our game really jumbles things up.

Current year:

Team Trevino (Ralph, Nick and Sam Trevino) have a 9 point lead over 2nd place Team Noffke (Mark & Steve Noffke and Bruce Martin).  It is expected to be almost a tie after the Sweet 16 games between Team Noffke and Team Trevino so there will be some key games like how long can Syracuse last as Noffke has 3 players in Syracuse.  As is usually the case, there will be some key games forthcoming.

Leader:  Team Snyder - Luka Garza (Iowa) - 60 pts (out)

Team Lehman - Kevin Obanor (Oral Roberts) - 58 pts (still in)

Dave Eccles - Cameron Thomas (LSU) - 57 pts (out)

+ / - calculations:

Team Snyder (Rod Snyder & Pat Mitchell) are leading the calculation this year with -96 points already through only 2 games.  They have 15 of their draft picks that have scored under their regular season pts per game average including drafting 3 players that were not going to be playing in the tournament.

The best player in the tournament so far through 2 games has been Matt Krautstrunk's 6th round pick of Justin Smith of Arkansas.  Smith a 12.5 per game scorer regular season already has a 29 and a 20 point game averaging 24.5 / game and Arkansas is still in the tournament.
